DESCRIBE YOUR BUSINESS: We’re a Clarks Shoe retailer selling ladies, men’s and children’s shoes, we also sell a range of ladies handbags. We offer a wide range of quality footwear from first step shoes, children’s school shoes to the latest trends and styles for all ages.
TELL US ABOUT THE HISTORY OF YOUR BUSINESS: Not everyone knows this but we’re a family run business franchised through Clarks Shoes. Although we’ve only been in the Grand Arcade for 7 years, we’ve actually been operating for 44 years, and are now in our 3rd family generation. We’re a company that can be trusted.
HOW MANY STAFF DO YOU EMPLOY? We have a team of 10. Most of our employees live locally too, as an employer it is really important to us to be able to support the local community. All our staff are expertly trained in Clarks measure and fitting service so they can help our customers to find the perfect fit and style.
WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT WORKING FOR CLARKS? We all believe in the Clarks brand and sell with confidence. Working for a family business means you’re more than just a number, great team support – it’s a happy working environment.
WHO ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS & WHY DO THEY CONTINUE TO SHOP WITH YOU? We offer a friendly expert service with a mix of generations from our lovely ladies and gents to the little ones who visit us for their first pair of shoes, not forgetting Back to School, parents want quality, hard wearing school shoes which will last, and this is why they come back to us each year. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT THE GRAND ARCADE? The people are so friendly, we love all our customers you really do get to know some of them well. The centre is kept clean and is bright and airy, it’s a nice place to work.
WHY SHOULD PEOPLE SHOP LOCAL? We’ve all had a tough couple of years, retail has changed, and people need to support their local town, high street and shopping centre. It’s simply if you don’t use it, you could lose it.
